From silkworms to silkworm cocoons
Mulberry leaves are a rich source of protein and are the primary food source for silkworms. Only high-quality mulberry leaves can produce the best silk. After approximately 20-28 days, the silkworm cocoons are formed. It takes about 2,500 silkworm cocoons to make 1,000 grams of silk duvet.
THE PROS OF DOUBLE-COCOON SILK
We select cocoons containing two or more silkworm pupae, as the silk threads from these cocoons are intertwined when the silkworms spin the silk. This type of cocoon produces silk that is not as tightly woven as a single silkworm's silk, resulting in a higher degree of curvature and better elasticity. The silk is also more voluminous due to the crisscrossing, net-like structure. This makes it an excellent raw material for high-quality silk duvets, which have a long service life and do not become stiff.
The Centuries-Old Craftsmanship
After the silkworm cocoons are processed into silk floss, four people positioned at the four corners pull and stretch the silk floss to form a delicate, wing-like silk net. This silk net is then layered and stacked to create the inner filling of the silk duvet. The entire process is completely manual, which is very time-consuming and labor-intensive, but it's also incredibly rewarding! The result is a silk duvet that is perfectly smooth and conforms closely to the body, allowing the natural advantages of mulberry silk to be fully realized.

FAQs
1. If the duvet cover is dirty, what should I do?
If the duvet cover is soiled, the soiled area can be gently pulled apart from the mulberry silk and tied for spot cleaning. After spot cleaning, wring out the affected area and then air dry or use a hair dryer to dry directly.
2. What are the advantages of silk duvet over other types of duvet?
Comfortable warmth: Silk duvet has excellent thermal insulation properties, providing a warm and comfortable sleeping environment in cold seasons. The fiber structure of silk has good thermal insulation, effectively regulating body temperature and maintaining an appropriate temperature.
Superior Breathability: Silk duvet has larger fiber spaces and excellent breathability, which can promote air circulation and prevent the accumulation of heat and moisture, making sleep more comfortable and dry.
Moisture absorption and wicking: Silk fibers have strong moisture absorption capabilities, able to absorb and wick sweat from the skin surface, keeping the skin dry and comfortable.
Natural Antibacterial Properties: Silk contains natural antibacterial components that can inhibit the growth of bacteria and reduce the presence of allergens and harmful substances, making it particularly suitable for people with allergic constitutions.
Lightweight and soft: Silk duvets are lightweight and soft in texture, with a good feel, not giving a heavy sensation and providing higher comfort.
Durable: Silk duvet has good durability and can maintain their warmth and comfort for years.
Beneficial for Sleep: Silk duvet is a high-quality sleep product that can provide a comfortable and warm sleeping environment, and have certain benefits in improving sleep quality and protecting skin health.
3. How should silk duvets be stored?
Prior to storage, it is recommended that the duvet be aired out and sun-dried to prevent moisture retention. Once the duvet has cooled, it can be folded and stored.
It is important to choose a dry storage location. It is not recommended to store the duvet in boxes, bags, or airtight packaging, as this can affect the silk's ability to absorb and release moisture, leading to mold, mildew, and odors.
Additionally, it is advisable to avoid storing the silk duvet in the same location as mothballs or other pest control chemicals, as these chemicals can damage the silk fibers. It is recommended to store the silk duvet on its own, without any other heavy items on top, to maintain its fluffiness and loft.
4. What are the little flowers stitched on the top of the duvet used for?
The florets are hand-stitched by artisans for optimal quilting positioning. Due to the natural tackiness of silk, only sporadic spot stitching is required. The higher the quality of the silk, the less quilting positioning is required.
